Umbra opened its private wallet to the public, making private sending, swaps, and compliance tools available to every Solana user for the first time. Built on Arcium’s encrypted execution engine, Umbra performs computations over fully encrypted data — an entirely new form of computing, powered by cryptography.

The transparent nature of Solana and other public blockchains has long been a critical barrier to adoption. Existing privacy solutions rely on obfuscation, routing transactions through centralized intermediaries which introduce single points of failure, or use Zero Knowledge (ZK)-based encryption which cannot be applied to applications where multiple parties are transacting. Arcium’s infrastructure changes that: trustless encrypted execution means that no single party can access the underlying information at any point in the process.

The first private wallet for everyday use, Umbra is built for anyone who has felt exposed transacting on-chain: traders who want to ensure their strategies stay confidential, businesses that want to shield operations from competitors, and institutions hesitant to move finance on-chain due to the absence of compliance infrastructure. At launch, Umbra users can send assets with the sender, recipient, and amount fully shielded, and swap tokens without revealing trade size, position, or intent while maintaining confidentiality on-chain.

Alongside the wallet, Umbra is releasing the Umbra SDK, a ZK-based anonymity stack that, along with extending Arcium’s generalized privacy infrastructure, powers the Umbra Wallet. The wallet also features a full compliance stack, including viewing keys, risk screening, and geo-blocking, so privacy and regulatory compliance work together rather than in opposition. Over the next few weeks, Umbra will be announcing several projects and teams integrating the SDK.

Kru, Co-founder of Umbra, said, “Finance is deeply personal, yet on-chain it has always been public by default. Every move you make is public, permanent, and traceable by anyone. Every tool that came before offered a workaround, not a solution. Umbra is the first system to change that — making privacy persistent, expressive, and usable by default. ”

Umbra’s launch is the culmination of a journey that began with one of the most significant fundraises in decentralized finance. In October 2025, Umbra received over $150 million in commitments on MetaDAO, attracting more than 10,000 participants, signalling how deeply the market has been waiting for on-chain privacy.

Yannik Schrade, CEO of Arcium, said, “We are living through a defining moment for privacy. The conversation has never been louder and the technology is finally ready. Umbra is the initial proof of what becomes possible when you build financial infrastructure powered by encrypted compute.”

The launch is also the first major proof point for Arcium’s encrypted execution infrastructure, which has been growing since its Mainnet Alpha launch in February. Projects including Melee, Bench, and Crafts are building toward their own launches on the network. The Umbra SDK extends Arcium’s infrastructure further, opening a wider spectrum of privacy tools to every developer on Solana.

We’re not being as forward-looking as normal

The post We’re not being as forward-looking as normal appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Bank of Canada (BoC) Governor Tiff Macklem addressed reporters’ questions, offering insights into the central bank’s monetary policy outlook. His remarks came after the BoC lowered its interest rate by 25 basis points to 2.50%, a move that markets had broadly anticipated. BoC press conference key highlights Wage growth continued to ease. The preferred core inflation measures have been around 3.0%. Underlying inflation is running around 2.5%. Consensus to cut rates was clear. Attention now shifts to how exports perform. There are still some mixed signals on inflation. The Inflation picture hasn’t changed much since January. We’re not being as forward-looking as normal. The Bank of Canada considered holding the overnight rate steady. I have more comfort looking at the upward pressure on CPI. We will be assessing the impact of government announcements on targeted support and support for big projects. Inflationary pressures look somewhat more contained. If risks tilt further we are prepared to take more action. Will take it one meeting at a time. This section below was published at 13:45 GMT to cover the Bank of Canada’s policy announcements and the initial market reaction. In line with market analysts’ expectations, the Bank of Canada (BoC) trimmed its policy rate by 25 basis points, taking it to 2.50% on Wednesday. Investors’ attention will now shift to the usual press conference by Governor Tiff Macklem at 14:30 GMT. BoC policy statement key highlights Rate cut was appropriate given the weaker economy and less upside risk to inflation. On a monthly basis, upward momentum in core inflation seen earlier this year has dissipated. Disruption linked to trade shifts will continue to add costs even as they weigh on economic uncertainties. BoC says it will continue to support economic growth while ensuring inflation remains well controlled. Ottawa’s decision to scrap tariffs…
