Trump’s FBI director fires 6 high-level agents who searched Mar-a-Lago

As many as six higher-level FBI agents were fired from their posts who were also linked to the search of Mar-a-Lago, MS NOW reported.

In 2022, President Donald Trump's country club was raided by the FBI because he refused to return classified documents he took from the White House. While other lawmakers like former Vice Presidents Mike Pence and Joe Biden had documents in boxes in storage, they quickly returned everything to the National Archives, which is the agency that gathers, protects and stores historic information.

The agents came out of Miami, and the higher-level special agents in charge were in Atlanta and New Orleans. One acting assistant director in charge of the New York field office was also ousted.

MS NOW said that while six were confirmed, it's unknown how many were fired in total, however.

"That kind of turnover is unheard of at the FBI, which has a long tradition of being an independent law enforcement agency staffed by non-political civil servants," said the report.

Director Kash Patel's aide told a conservative outlet that they were working on firings of the law enforcement. However, the conservative Washington Examiner published a piece accusing the Trump administration of not doing enough to fire people from the FBI and DOJ that they don't like.

According to the FBI Agents Association it’s improper to fire FBI agents without any evidence of misconduct or cause. Former acting director Brian Driscoll was among those let go by Patel upon entering office. He along with another group of agents are part of a large lawsuit.
