PANews reported on August 14th that, according to Cointelegraph, Google searches for "altcoin" have reached their highest level since 2021, while interest in "Ethereum" has also reached a two-year peak, according to Google Trends data. Google Trends has previously documented similar surges. In early 2018, a few months after Bitcoin peaked in late 2017, retail investors turned their attention to a wave of new cryptocurrencies launched through initial coin offerings (ICOs).
