In about a week, Foo Fighters will return to multiple Billboard charts with the album Your Favorite Toy. The group’s twelfth full-length was released on Friday (April 24), and after its first tracking period has finished, the set will almost surely launch within the top 10 on the Billboard 200, and it could score the Grammy winners another No. 1 on several rock-focused rankings.

Just before the album Your Favorite Toy was finally unleashed, the song of the same name – one of several singles pushed from the project – rises to No. 1 and nearly helps Foo Fighters tie an important and historic chart record.

Foo Fighters’ “Your Favorite Toy” Reaches No. 1

Foo Fighters rule the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, one of several rosters centered entirely around the most played and most heard tunes at stations that play harder rock formats across the United States. “Your Favorite Toy” steps up from second place to No. 1 shortly before it reaches two months on the tally.

Foo Fighters replace Papa Roach at the summit, as that group’s “Wake Up Calling” slips from No. 1 to No. 3. Meanwhile, “Demonic Depression” by Volbeat ascends to a new high of No. 2, separating the two winners.

“Your Favorite Toy” Becomes the Band’s Sixteenth Leader

As “Your Favorite Toy” commands the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart for the first time, it becomes the sixteenth leader for the celebrated rock outfit. The group already claimed the fourth-most champions before this latest leader, and now the musicians are closer to tying for third.

Currently, Five Finger Death Punch claims that honor alone with 17 No. 1s. Shinedown continues to lead all acts with 22 chart-topping smashes on the roster. Three Days Grace, which trails by only two rulers, is the only other name with 20 No. 1s or more.

Foo Fighters Climbs on Several Radio Charts

Foo Fighters are currently pushing “Your Favorite Toy” with what must be a lot of promotional might, and the effort shows across several Billboard rankings. As the track leads the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, it also hits a new high of No. 4, up from seventh place, on the Alternative Airplay rundown. “Your Favorite Toy” returns to No. 5, its previously set peak, on the Rock & Alternative Airplay register.

“Your Favorite Toy” Slips on the Hot Hard Rock Songs Chart

The “Your Favorite Toy” single takes up space on one additional Billboard ranking, though it does not reach a new peak. In fact, it falls, slipping outside the top 10 as it dips from No. 10 to No. 11 on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart. That roster looks at the most consumed tunes classified by the company as hard rock, and streams and sales, as well as airplay, are the three metrics that determine where a tune lands.

“Your Favorite Toy” is one of several singles by Foo Fighters that missed out on running the show by just one spot. Two other classics, “My Hero” and “Making a Fire,” stalled in the same rung, while “Waiting on a War,” “Everlong,” and “Rescued” did manage to lead the charge.

Foo Fighters’ “Everlong” Holds at No. 1

Speaking of “Everlong” – that’s the only other hit by Foo Fighters that appears on a Billboard chart, and it’s enjoying a big week on the two tallies on which it settles. “Everlong” holds at No. 1 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs tally, while simultaneously breaking back onto the Alternative Streaming Songs roster at No. 23.
