Four Indian films and one Hindi web show have made it to the weekly global top ten list on Netflix.

Hindi movies Baramulla, Ek Chatur Naar, and Jolly LLB 3, the Tamil film Dude and the Hindi web show Delhi Crime season 3 have all made it to the weekly list.

In its second week on the platform, Baramulla climbed up the charts to become the second most-watched non-English film worldwide on Netflix. When it made its debut last week, it ranked third on the global list. In its second week on the platform, Baramulla also ranked among topmost watched movies (all languages) in 16 countries across the globe on Netflix.

Last week as well, Baramulla made it to top ten movies in sixteen countries on Netflix and was the top trending film on the platform. This week, it was the second most-watched film on any online platform in India with three million views in the country.

Baramulla has been directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale who previously worked on Article 370. It features Manav Kaul as an investigative police officer who is brought to Kashmir to solve a case of missing children. Jio Studios and B62 Studios have produced the film which uses rare narrative techniques to highlight the horrors of Kashmiri Pandits in the Indian valley. The film released on Netflix on November 7 and also stars Bhasha Sumbli, Arista Mehta and Rohaan Singh.

Jolly LLB 3

Indian actors Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi as back as advocates on the Bollywood film ‘Jolly LLB 3’.

After a decent box office run, Jolly LLB 3 landed on Netflix November 14 and is already the fourth most-watched non-English film worldwide on the platform this week. It registered 2.7 million views and 7 million watch-hours in just three days.

The court-room comedy is also the second most-watched Indian film worldwide on Netflix for the week ending November 16. It is the most-watched film across languages on the platform in India and Pakistan. Jolly LLB 3 ranked with top ten most-watched movies in nine other countries on the platform. In India, it is the fourth most-watched movie across all languages on any online platform for this week with 2.2 million views in the country.

Written and directed by Subhash Kapoor, Jolly LLB 3 is the third film in the franchise which proved to be a surprise hit when it first released in 2013 featuring Arshad Warsi, Saurabh Shukla, Boman Irani and Amrita Rao. Kumar entered the franchise for the second film and so did Huma Qureshi. All the actors come together to reprise their respective roles in the third film.

Dude

Tamil film ‘Dude’ ranks among top most-watched non-English films worldwide on Netflix in three days after digital debut.

The Tamil film Dude recorded 2.4 million views and 5.4 million watch-hours on Netflix in just three days since its digital debut to become the fifth most-watched non-English film on the platform. For the week ending November 16, Dude ranked among the top ten most-watched movies (all languages) on Netflix in ten countries across the world.

Directed by Keerthiswaran, the romantic comedy features Mamitha Baiju and Pradeep Ranganathan along with Hridhu Haroon, Aishwarya Sharma, Neha Shetty and R Sarathkumar. Mythri Movie Makers have produced the film.

Ek Chatur Naar

T Series

The Hindi movie Ek Chatur Naar registered two million views and 4.3 million watch-hours to become the seventh most-watched non-English film on Netflix. It also ranked among the top ten movies in twelve countries across the globe on the platform.

Umesh Shukla (102 Not Out, OMG Oh My God) directed the film written by Himanshu Tripathi. Divya Khosla Kumar and Neil Nitin Mukesh play lead roles in the black comedy thriller produced by Merry Go Round Studios. It hit theatres on September 12.

Delhi Crime season 3

Headlined by Shefali Shah, Delhi Crime Season 3 registered 2.3 million views and 11.1 million watch-hours on Netflix since the release on November 13. In its first week, the crime thriller is the ninth most-watched non-English show on Netflix. It was also the most-watched web show (all languages) in ten countries across the globe on Netflix. These include India, Maldives, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Sri Lanka, Oman, Qatar, UAE, Pakistan, and Mauritius. Delhi Crime season 3 also ranked among top ten movies in thirteen countries.

In India, it was the second most-watched fictional web series across all languages on any online platform this week. The first one on the list was Subhash Kapoor directorial Maharani 4 featuring Huma Qureshi in the lead role. Delhi Crime season 3 recorded 3.3 million views in India while Maharani 4 registered 3.5 million views in the country.

Tanuj Chopra is the showrunner for Delhi Crime season 3 and has also directed the web series which marks the debut of Mita Vashisht, Huma Qureshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Sayani Gupta in the franchise. Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, Denzil Smith reprise their roles from previous seasons.

Maharani 4

Qureshi’s Maharani 4 debuted as the second most-watched web show across all online platforms in India (all languages) last week and climbed to the top spot for the week ending November 16. The show is directed by Puneet Prakash and showcases a fictional story that revolves around and is inspired by real characters and events in the regional politics in the Indian state of Bihar. After three successful seasons, the fourth season arrived online on November 7. It has been created by Subhash Kapoor and sees Vipin Sharma, Amit Sial, Kani Kasruti, and Vineet Kumar reprising their roles from previous seasons. The show is currently streaming on Sony LIV.

Kantara Chapter 1

Hombale Films

The Kannada box office hit Kantar Chapter 1 continues to woo the Indian audience and was ranked as the topmost watched movie on any online platform across India (all languages) as per Ormax Media. For the week ending November 16, Rishab Shetty’s directorial Kantara Chapter 1 recorded 3.3 million views in India alone.

It is the second consecutive week as the most-watched online film in India for Kantara Chapter 1 which is currently streaming on Prime Video. It made its debut on October 31 and within days, it was the second most-watched film on any online platform in India.

Lokah Chapter 1

Wayfarer Films

After making its digital debut as the most-watched film in India, Malayalam hit Lokah Chapter 1 slid down the following week to the second position. The movie slipped further down this week to rank as the third most-watched film in India across all online platforms. Ormax Media recorded 2.7 million views for the female superhero film in India. Directed by Dominic Arjun, Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra is currently streaming on JioHotstar. The film is not available for digital viewing in the US.
