Is Shiba Inu (SHIB) Dead? Why This Cheap Crypto Under $0.04 Could Be Your Best Bet for 2026

It seems like with the closing of 2025, when it comes to crypto trends, everything is about Shiba Inu and the rising fame for a new DeFi platform, Mutuum Finance (MUTM). It seems like Shiba Inu has had one of the lowest years, while Mutuum Finance has gained fame because of it being the cheapest crypto in which to invest.

Shiba Inu At A Critical Juncture

The Shiba Inu token has been having a rough time in the year 2025. The token experienced a depreciation in value in 10 months out of the 12 months. There was an increase in the value of the token in the months of April and July only. But things took a bad turn in the last three months. The main reason behind this was that in the month of October, there was a depreciation of 15.2%. Then in November, there was a depreciation of 16.2%. The month of December has seen a depreciation of 11.6%. Due to this continuous depreciation in value, the SHIB token is standing at a critical point today.

As of now, the present price of SHIB is about $0.0000075. In fact, the price of $0.00000678 is really very important. Otherwise, if it comes below this price, it will be very risky for it, and SHIB will keep on plummeting throughout 2026. However, if it is looking forward to becoming important in the altcoin market, it must overcome this price of $0.000008. The price they must overcome afterward is $0.000009.

Of course, if we observe the past, SHIB might move up very fast, as has happened in the year 2023 and 2024. However, as of now, buying Shiba Inu is very risky. In fact, for a person asking what to invest in at present, MUTM is a better bet.

Mutuum Finance and The Case for a New DeFi Bet

With the challenges faced by SHIB, the spotlight is on Mutuum Finance, an emerging token for the DeFi market with a price lower than $0.04, an extremely valuable asset. The current level of MUTM in stage 6 of the presale is 99% and is the last level available for purchasing at $0.035. This will advance to stage 7 with a cost of $0.04 for every token, an increase of an unprecedented 250% from the previous level 1 pricing of $0.01. This aims to provide an 420% return.

At this stage, the amount raised from the presale is $19,500,000, and the total number of MUTM token holders is 18,560. Given that phase 6 is closing and entry will not be affordably cheap after it, it’s this realization that makes MUTM the cheapest crypto in which to invest, as opposed to investing in the next phase when it’s expensive.

Moreover, other than the price movement, it can also be noticed that Mutuum has taken the lead regarding the component of building trust. This is because the project team has been able to prepare the V1 protocol for Sepolia testnet along with essential tools including liquidity pools, mtTokens, debt tokens, and Liquidator Bot by the end of Q4 of 2025. Also, it will support both ETH and USDT.

Security is also viewed to be of great importance, given that there is a current audit, coupled with the examination of the finalized lending and borrowing agreements by Halborn Security. This is actually very important, especially for the investors who may want to invest in a safer option, while at the same time determining which cryptocurrency to invest in today. There is also a new Mutuum live leaderboard, which includes the top 50 holders. There is also a 24-hour leaderboard, which treats the highest ranked member to receive $500 MUTM on each day that follows a successful transaction, which then resets to zero at every 00:00 UTC. This is because of the ongoing giveaway of $100,000, which shall be awarded to a total of 10 individuals. There is also a near sold-out Phase 6, which helps to create the fear of missing out among the potential investors.

Outlook and Decision-Making

The future for Shiba Inu looks quite tough for the year 2026, while the future for Mutuum Finance appears to be at a nascent stage of growth. Regarding people interested in knowing about the best cryptocurrency to invest in at present, quite a large contrast continues to prevail between the two, where one finds it hard to sustain itself, while it continues to break new records at a rapidly selling presale stage.

As the number of people considering the question of what the best cryptocurrency to invest in as of now keeps rising, MUTM keeps appearing as one of the top cryptocurrencies among the biggest bargains of 2025.

Satoshi-Era Mt. Gox’s 1,000 Bitcoin Wallet Suddenly Reactivated

The post Satoshi-Era Mt. Gox’s 1,000 Bitcoin Wallet Suddenly Reactivated appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. X account @SaniExp, which belongs to the founder of the Timechain Index explorer, has published data showing that a dormant BTC wallet was activated after hibernating for six years. However, it was set up 13 years ago, according to the tweet — the time when Satoshi Nakamoto’s shadow was still casting itself around, so to speak. The X post states that the tweet belongs to infamous early Bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox, which suffered from a major hack in the early 2010s, and last year it began paying out compensation to clients who lost their crypto in that hack. The deadline was eventually extended to October 2025. Mt. Gox’s wallet with 1,000 BTC reactivated The above-mentioned data source shared a screenshot from the Timechain Index explorer, showing multiple transactions marked as confirmed and moving a total of 1,000 Bitcoins. This amount of crypto is valued at $116,195,100 at the time of the initiated transaction. Last year, Mt. Gox began to move the remains of its gargantuan funds to pay out compensations to its creditors. Earlier this year, it also made several massive transactions to partner exchanges to distribute funds to Mt. Gox investors. All of the compensations were promised to be paid out by Oct. 31, 2025. The aforementioned transaction is likely preparation for another payout. The exchange was hacked for several years due to multiple unnoticed security breaches, and in 2014, when the site went offline, 744,408 Bitcoins were reported stolen. lessons from Malta’s Papaya case

lessons from Malta’s Papaya case

The post lessons from Malta’s Papaya case appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. SPONSORED POST* Standfirst: In August 2025, Malta became the unlikely stage for a clash between a fintech firm and one of the island’s most powerful newspapers. Papaya Ltd’s response – measured, legalistic, and paired with concrete operational moves, now stands as a case study in how financial institutions can build resilience under pressure. Drawing on the joint expertise of Lincoln’s Inn barrister (UK)  Hamna Zain and former Deutsche Bank professional Davor Zilic (croatian fintech specialist), this article examines what happened, and what it tells us about the uneasy balance between law, journalism and finance. In early August 2025, Papaya Ltd – a licensed Maltese electronic money institution (EMI), found itself in the eye of a media storm. The Times of Malta, the country’s largest daily, sent the company a list of probing questions which, Papaya argued, would have forced it to reveal confidential information from a 2021 compliance audit. The firm turned to the courts, asking for a temporary injunction to prevent publication. A judge granted a temporary protective measure pending a full hearing on its request for an injunction, that blocked the newspaper from publishing an as-yet-unwritten article about the company. The request for a substantive injunction was ultimately refused on 12 August. This legal action, triggered after one of the newspaper’s journalists sent questions to Papaya, prompted heated debate about press freedom, censorship, and the responsibilities of both media and financial firms. The headlines were immediate and emotive. “Times of Malta hit by court ‘gagging order’ from e-money firm”. “We’ve been gagged. This is why it matters.” For days, the injunction was portrayed as an assault on press freedom. The newspaper itself argued that “preventing a journalist from publishing a story is recognised in all democratic countries as illegal and a violation of the journalist’s fundamental right to…
