IRVINE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Geraci LLP, a leading law firm serving the private lending industry nationwide, today announced the launch of its Property Damage Law Division, spearheaded by Jasmine Daya, a civil litigation lawyer with over 20 years of experience in insurance law claims and personal injury.

Ms. Daya built her legal career in Canada, representing clients in complex insurance disputes and personal injury matters, gaining deep expertise in insurer conduct, coverage interpretation, and claims resolution. Upon joining Geraci LLP, she quickly identified a significant and often overlooked risk facing private lenders: inadequate or improperly structured property insurance on collateral securing large loan balances.

“Private lenders are advancing substantial sums secured by real estate, yet many are not paying enough attention to the quality, scope, and enforceability of the underlying insurance policies,” said Daya. “When insurance coverage is deficient, delayed, denied, or underpaid, the value of the lender’s security can be severely diminished—sometimes irreparably.”

Recognizing the urgency of this issue, Ms. Daya raised the need for a dedicated insurance and property damage practice with Anthony Geraci, CEO of Geraci LLP. The response was immediate.

“Without hesitation, we agreed this was a necessary and natural expansion of our services,” said Geraci. “Protecting our clients’ collateral and risk exposure is core to our mandate.”

The launch of the Property Damage Law Division comes at a critical moment for California property owners and lenders alike. Recent wildfires, storms, landslides, and other catastrophic events—combined with shifting political pressures and changing insurer practices—have dramatically altered the insurance landscape. Coverage restrictions, non-renewals, exclusions, and aggressive claims handling are becoming increasingly common.

In line with Geraci LLP’s renewed client-first mandate, the new division is dedicated to providing strategic, results-driven representation in:

  • Delayed, denied, or underpaid property insurance claims
  • Coverage analysis and insurance policy reviews
  • Risk mitigation and insurance compliance for lenders
  • Property damage disputes arising from wildfire, smoke, storm, water, landslide, and related losses

While the division was developed in response to risks facing private lenders, its services are also available to the public, including homeowners and property owners navigating complex insurance disputes.

“Our goal is simple,” said Daya. “To ensure policyholders and lenders alike understand their rights, their coverage, and their options—and to step in forcefully when insurers fail to honor their obligations.”

Geraci LLP Property Damage Law offers free initial consultations and serves clients throughout California.

That personality came out last week during our Zoom call when I mentioned for the first time that I’m a Chicago Cubs fan. He responded to the mention of my fandom, “So far, I don’t think this interview is going very well.” Yet, Wainwright will return to Busch Stadium on September 19 on a more serious note, this time to honor another former Cardinal and friend, the late Darryl Kile. Wainwright will take the mound not as a starting pitcher, but to throw out the game’s ceremonial first pitch. Joining him on the mound will be Kile’s daughter, Sierra, as the two help launch a new program called Playing with Heart. “Darryl’s passing was a reminder that heart disease doesn’t discriminate, even against elite athletes in peak physical shape,” Wainwright said. “This program is about helping people recognize the risks, take action, and hopefully save lives.” Wainwright, who played for the St. Louis Cardinals as a starting pitcher from 2005 to 2023, aims to merge the essence of baseball tradition with a crucial message about heart health. Kile, a beloved pitcher for the Cardinals, tragically passed away in 2002 at the age of 33 as a result of early-onset heart disease. His sudden death shook the baseball world and left a lasting impact on teammates, fans, and especially his family. Now, more than two decades later, Sierra Kile is stepping forward with Wainwright to…
