Ethereum news continues to draw attention after Raoul Pal described Ethereum as a “very good product” for financial institutions. His remarks focused on Ethereum’s structure and its suitability for large-scale financial use.

Pal stated that Ethereum has already demonstrated reliability through its development cycle. He said the network “clearly works very well for what the financial markets need.” His comments highlighted both Layer 1 security and Layer 2 scalability as key components supporting institutional adoption.

Ethereum News Highlights Institutional Infrastructure

According to Pal, institutions can build customized Layer 2 solutions on Ethereum. He pointed to Coinbase as an example of how Layer 2 networks can meet specific operational needs. He added that institutions can rely on Ethereum’s base layer when higher security is required.

Pal also noted that Ethereum includes zero-knowledge technology and other tools already under development. He said these features are available within the ecosystem, suggesting that infrastructure requirements are already met. He added that Ethereum currently has excess capacity, which could support future demand.

In addition to the Ethereum news, he questioned whether major banks would choose alternative networks. Pal said it is “highly unlikely” that firms like Goldman Sachs or JPMorgan Chase would build on competing chains. Instead, he stated that these institutions are more likely to develop their own Layer 2 solutions on Ethereum.

He also referenced Ethereum’s yield component. According to Pal, this feature contributes to its positioning as a financial product. He described ETH as suitable for financial markets due to this combination of yield and infrastructure.

Despite the institutional narrative, ETH price data shows downward movement at the time of writing. Ethereum traded above $2,010, reaching around $2,017. However, the price then declined steadily.

ETH later dropped below the $2,000 level. At the time of the recording, Ethereum was trading at $1,993.77. This marked a 1.27% decrease over 24 hours. Market capitalization also declined by 1.26% to approximately $240.63 billion. At the same time, trading volume fell. The 24-hour volume dropped 33.23% to $7.55 billion.

Ethereum Narrative Evolution and Market Position

Pal also addressed Ethereum’s broader positioning. He said, based on the Ethereum news, the network is still refining its narrative within the market. He compared this phase to Bitcoin’s earlier development cycle.

Pal noted that Bitcoin previously explored multiple use cases before settling on a store-of-value narrative. According to Pal, Ethereum is undergoing a similar process. He said the network is moving back toward its “world computer” concept.

Pal described Ethereum as a global compute platform operating at scale. He stated that this positioning aligns with tokenization efforts. Pal added that Ethereum could become the primary platform for tokenized financial systems.

He also said Ethereum may outperform Bitcoin over shorter periods. However, his long-term comments focused on structural importance rather than price movement.

New Trump appointee Miran calls for half-point cut in only dissent as rest of Fed bands together

The post New Trump appointee Miran calls for half-point cut in only dissent as rest of Fed bands together appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Stephen Miran, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers and US Federal Reserve governor nominee for US President Donald Trump, arrives for a Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee confirmation hearing in Washington, DC, US, on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025. The Senate Banking Committee’s examination of Stephen Miran’s appointment will provide the first extended look at how prominent Republican senators balance their long-standing support of an independent central bank against loyalty to their party leader. Photographer: Daniel Heuer/Bloomberg via Getty Images Daniel Heuer | Bloomberg | Getty Images Newly-confirmed Federal Reserve Governor Stephen Miran dissented from the central bank’s decision to lower the federal funds rate by a quarter percentage point on Wednesday, choosing instead to call for a half-point cut. Miran, who was confirmed by the Senate to the Fed Board of Governors on Monday, was the sole dissenter in the Federal Open Market Committee’s statement. Governors Michelle Bowman and Christopher Waller, who had dissented at the Fed’s prior meeting in favor of a quarter-point move, were aligned with Fed Chair Jerome Powell and the others besides Miran this time. Miran was selected by Trump back in August to fill the seat that was vacated by former Governor Adriana Kugler after she suddenly announced her resignation without stating a reason for doing so. He has said that he will take an unpaid leave of absence as chair of the White House’s Council of Economic Advisors rather than fully resign from the position. Miran’s place on the board, which will last until Jan. 31, 2026 when Kugler’s term was due to end, has been viewed by critics as a threat from Trump to the Fed’s independence, as the president has nominated three of the seven members. Trump also said in August that he had fired Federal Reserve Board Governor…
