20 years ago, Fall Out Boy changed the sound of rock with its signature blend of eccentric song titles, sharp – and even odd – lyrics, and pop-punk, radio-ready sensibilities. The group broke out with its sophomore album From Under the Cork Tree, which quickly became a defining release in the emo surge that took over the airwaves two decades ago. The set turned Fall Out Boy into a household name and kicked off one of the most successful careers in modern rock.

To celebrate the full-length’s twentieth anniversary — it was actually released in May 2005 — the band recently delivered a special edition of the album. Sales jumped dramatically from one frame to the next, and the now-classic debuts on one Billboard chart and returns to several others in glorious fashion.

From Under the Cork Tree Debuts on a Billboard Chart

Two decades after its release, From Under the Cork Tree appears for the first time on the Top Alternative Albums chart. The list ranks the most consumed full-lengths and EPs that fall under the alternative genre label. Fall Out Boy launches its early-career effort at No. 24, in second-to-last place on the tally.

How Many Charting Albums Has Fall Out Boy Released?

As From Under the Cork Tree lands on the Top Alternative Albums chart, Fall Out Boy earns its twelfth placement on the ranking. The band’s total includes eight top 10s, and three No. 1s. Save Rock and Roll, American Beauty/American Psycho, and Mania have all previously led the charge. Of those three, only American Beauty/American Psycho spent more than one frame at No. 1, as it commanded the roster for three periods after opening atop the chart in February 2015.

Why Does Fall Out Boy’s From Under the Cork Tree Hit the Charts in 2025?

Thanks to the anniversary reissue, From Under the Cork Tree sold a little more than 4,200 copies between digital downloads and physical formats like CDs, vinyl, and cassettes across the U.S. That figure comes from Luminate, the organization that tracks sales and streaming data, which is then used to compile the Billboard charts.

Purchases of the album jumped 48% from one frame to the next. Several thousand fans bought copies of From Under the Cork Tree days before the new edition dropped, which serves as proof that there’s consistent interest in the full-length and that longtime fans were eager to celebrate its milestone, even before the anniversary version became widely available.

Fall Out Boy Returns to Billboard 200 and Other Charts

Fall Out Boy brings From Under the Cork Tree back to two additional charts. The set reenters the Top Rock & Alternative Albums list at No. 38, narrowly breaking back into the top 40. It also reappears on the Billboard 200, though in a much lower slot, at No. 170. The emo classic reappears with a total of 8,800 equivalent units.

Last frame, From Under the Cork Tree was already present on both the Vinyl Albums and Top Album Sales charts. This time around, the emo favorite soars on both lists. On the vinyl-only tally, Fall Out Boy rockets from No. 20 to No. 12 in just its third frame ever on the wax-specific chart. On the general ranking of the bestselling releases across all formats, From Under the Cork Tree jumps 30 spaces, from No. 47 to No. 17.

Where Did From Under the Cork Tree Peak on the Charts?

Notably, From Under the Cork Tree has reached the top 10 on almost every chart it currently appears on. The band’s breakout effort rose highest on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums list, where it peaked at No. 2. The same title reached No. 3 on the Vinyl Albums chart and No. 9 on both the Billboard 200 and Top Album Sales ranking.

From Under the Cork Tree has only missed the uppermost register on the Top Alternative Albums tally, where the set establishes a new low position — though still an impressive one for a 20-year-old record.

What’s Included in the Anniversary Edition of Fall Out Boy’s From Under the Cork Tree?

The twentieth anniversary edition of From Under the Cork Tree is available as both a double CD and a three-LP set. Alongside the original album and its beloved tracks, it includes a bonus disc filled with live BBC Radio recordings, acoustic takes, instrumentals, and several remixes — the kind of extras that are sure to delight longtime Fall Out Boy fans, and which clearly proved to be enough to help the full-length become a bestseller again.

Fall Out Boy Revisits Early Era With New Edition

Two years before From Under the Cork Tree, Fall Out Boy released its debut album Take This to Your Grave. That full-length, which has been certified gold, reached No. 140 on the Billboard 200 and introduced the band as one of the most exciting acts in the rising pop-punk scene.

From Under the Cork Tree produced certified radio hits and helped the group expand beyond the underground thanks to smashes like “Sugar, We’re Goin Down,” “Dance, Dance,” and, to a lesser extent, “A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More ‘Touch Me.’”

Hong Kong’s Project Ensemble to Drive Tokenized Deposits Lee confirmed that the HKMA will “continue to take forward Project Ensemble, including encouraging commercial banks to introduce tokenised deposits, and promoting live transactions of tokenised assets, such as the settlement of tokenised money market funds with tokenised deposits.” The initiative aims to embed tokenized deposits, bank liabilities represented as blockchain-based tokens, into mainstream financial operations.
