An influencer and Twitch streamer in Australia, Dinah, has come under intense scrutiny because of posts she made on Instagram promoting the cryptocurrency gambling site Rainbet.

To her 822,000 followers on Instagram, Dinah has been sharing videos of herself playing on Rainbet. This has caused controversy because Rainbet is classed as an illegal offshore gambling site in Australia.

According to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), promoting such a site comes with consequences, including fines of up to $2.4 million AUD.

Dinah has posted reels captioned: “WHY PAY RENT WHEN U CAN JUST DOUBLE IT???? (ty rainbet! link in bio – helps me out a lot)”

Rainbet is a cryptocurrency casino that is licensed in Curacao and Anjouan, but it is not licensed to operate in Australia. Under the nation’s Interactive Gambling Act 2001, it is illegal for offshore gambling sites to offer their services to Australians without a local license. Consequently, it is also illegal to promote this business to Australian consumers.

According to the Australian Communications and Media Authority, “The promotion of illegal gambling services in Australia is illegal, and substantial penalties apply.”

They explicitly also warned influencers: “Stop promoting illegal gambling services to Australians. If you don’t, you risk facing significant penalties,” which could be as high as $2.4 million.

This story is all about the legal grey areas in cryptocurrency gambling. While Rainbet is technically restricted in Australia, there is very little stopping players from setting up a VPN and visiting the site.

Using a VPN to bypass gambling geo-blocks violates the casino’s own Terms of Service and circumvents Australian protective laws, though the act of playing itself is not typically a criminal offense for the individual user.

Meta also seems to be operating in this grey area. They initially refused to bring down any of Dinah’s flagged posts about Rainbet. In response to reports, a Meta spokesperson stated, “Our team reviewed the content. They found that it does not go against our community standards on fraud or scam,” and the platform declined to remove the posts.

With global tightening regulations around cryptocurrency and gambling, countries like Australia are in a constant battle against offshore gambling sites. There are very few cryptocurrency casinos that accept Australian visitors, and this latest controversy shows the government is up for the fight, even if it means coming after individual influencers.

Cracker Barrel Must Inspire More Confidence After Rebrand Fail

Cracker Barrel Must Inspire More Confidence After Rebrand Fail

The post Cracker Barrel Must Inspire More Confidence After Rebrand Fail appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. HOMESTEAD, FLORIDA – AUGUST 21: A Cracker Barrel sign featuring the old logo is seen outside of a restaurant on August 21, 2025 in Homestead, Florida. The restaurant unveiled a new logo earlier this week as part of a larger brand refresh. The new logo removes the image of a man sitting next to a barrel and the phrase “old country store”. Now the logo will feature the words “Cracker Barrel” against a yellow background. (Photo by Joe Raedle/Getty Images) Getty Images Cracker Barrel should have left well enough alone. In the first earnings call after its catastrophic rebrand, which triggered an immediate customer backlash and forced a sheepish reversal, the company reported a 5.4% increase in comparable store restaurant sales and a 4.4% revenue gain in fourth quarter 2025, adjusting for the 53rd week in 2024. In more positive news, it ended the year up 2.2%, hitting the high end of guidance at $3.5 billion and bettered its adjusted EBITDA target at $224.3 million, up 9%, adjusting for the extra week. The problem is that these positive results came before, not after it shocked customers with the rebrand news. Cracker Barrel’s fiscal year ended August 1. The “All the More” rebrand featuring a new logo and plans to remodel its chain of 660 stores was announced on August 19. In a week, it reversed course on the logo change, then on September 9, it cancelled plans for the remodel. Self-Inflicted Damage Now it is left to pick up the pieces. Foot traffic declined 8% after the mid-August announcement and management is expecting year-end foot traffic to be off between -4% and -7%, assuming sequential quarterly improvements after investing an additional $16 million in advertising and marketing. It’s guiding on total revenue in the $3.35 billion to $3.45 billion range…
