根據紐約河濱紀念教堂確認的家屬聲明，以在黑幫劇集The Sopranos中飾演Herman "Hesh" Rabkin而聲名鵲起的Jerry Adler於週六去世。Paradigm人才經紀公司的Sarah Shulman代表其家人表示，Adler"在睡夢中安詳離世"。未透露死因。
Adler於1929年2月4日出生於紐約布魯克林，1950年開始了他的劇場生涯，擔任舞台經理，參與製作如Of Thee I Sing和My Fair Lady等作品，之後轉向製作監督工作。他在1974年執導了Sammy Cohn的歌舞雜耍Words and Music，這是他的導演處女作，後來又執導了1976年重演的My Fair Lady，獲得了Drama Desk獎提名。
Adler在1970年代末轉向演戲，1991年62歲時在成長喜劇Brooklyn Bridge中客串出演，這是他的第一個電視演出。之後，他陸續出現在Quantum Leap、New York Undercover和Northern Exposure等多部劇集中，隨後在Tony Danza主演的單季喜劇Hudson Street中獲得了他的第一個固定角色。
