JasmyCoin (JASMY) is an ERC-20 utility token built on the Ethereum blockchain, designed to power the Jasmy IoT platform. The project aims to democratize data by combining blockchain and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, allowing users to maintain control over their personal information through "Personal Data Lockers" (PDLs).

Issuance Mechanism

JasmyCoin has a fixed maximum supply of 50,000,000,000 (50 billion) tokens. While early documentation from 2020 and 2021 occasionally cited a maximum supply of 50 million, the project has since standardized on the 50 billion figure.

As of early 2024, the project reported that approximately 99% of the supply has been distributed. The token operates as a standard ERC-20 token on Ethereum, meaning it relies on Ethereum's infrastructure for transaction processing and security rather than having its own independent validator set. However, the project is developing "Jasmy Chain," a Layer-2 rollup using the Optimism OP Stack, which may influence future issuance or distribution dynamics.

Allocation Mechanism

Usage and Incentive Mechanism

• Service Fees: Paying for the use of the Jasmy platform.
• Data Access: Merchants and third parties must pay JASMY to purchase access to data stored within a user's Personal Data Locker.
• Medium of Exchange: Used to purchase products or services within the platform of Jasmy partners.

Current Status

Despite these planned functions, as of early 2024, the project team stated that the full ecosystem is not yet operational. Currently, the primary utility of JasmyCoin is for payment purposes, investment, and operation on cryptocurrency exchanges.

Locking Mechanism and Unlocking Time

JasmyCoin utilized a gradual release schedule to manage the circulating supply and ensure long-term alignment with the project's growth.

• Funds and Institutional Investors: This 27% allocation was locked and distributed gradually throughout 2022 and 2023.
• Ecosystem Allocation: The 48% allocated to the ecosystem was designed to be locked and distributed as the business grows.
• Incentives: This 5% allocation was scheduled to be unlocked two years after specific conditions were achieved.
• Contributors and Community: This 20% allocation was reported as fully unlocked by early 2022.

Unlock Data Analysis

Historical metrics indicate that the final major unlock events concluded in late 2023. On October 1, 2023, a significant unlock of 2.5 billion tokens (5% of the total allocation) occurred, bringing the percentage of completed unlocks to 100%. Prior to this, the project saw daily linear unlocks of approximately 18.49 million tokens throughout September 2023.

Future Roadmap and Evolution
