Idli Kadai recorded 12.5 million watch-hours and 5.2 million views on Netflix globally to become the second most-watched non-English film on the platform this week. The Tamil film landed online on October 29 and became the most-viewed film on the platform in five countries including Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Maldives and Sri Lanka. It also ranked among top ten most watched movies in fifteen countries.

Written and directed by Tamil star Dhanush, Idli Kadai also features him in the lead. Rajkiran, Shalini Pandey, Nithya Menon and Sathayaraj along with Arun Vijay play pivotal roles in the film which also stars P Samuthirakani, R. Parthiban and Rajkiran. It hit theatres on October 1 and scored around $9 million at the global ticket windows.

The story of Idli Kadai revolves around a young man (Dhanush) who dreamt of luxuries and sets out of his village life to make it big in the hotel industry. He becomes a favorite of his boss and also finds love in the process. However, a sudden tragic event turns his life upside down. He visits his village soon to realize that he’d be most content if he carried forward his father’s legacy – a local eatery which was widely loves in the region. While it has very predictable storyline and the characters are all too starkly positive or negative, Idli Kadai enjoys a warmth that makes it tug at hearts.

The only second Indian film on Netflix global top ten this week is Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG. The Telugu film recorded 2.1 million views and 5.2 million watch-hours on the platform for its second week online. After making its debut at the fifth slot, it was the seventh most-watched non-English film on Netflix for the week. It also ranked among top ten most-watched films in ten countries on Netflix.

According to Ormax Media, They Call Him OG was the third most-watched film in India on all online platforms recording three million views. Last week, it recorded 3.5 million views in India, to become the most-watched film in India.

Saaho fame Sujeeth has written and directed They Call Him OG which is a DVV Danayya production. Kalyan plays the lead in the film which is supposed to be the second film in ‘Sujeeth Cinematic Universe’. Prabhas-starrer Saaho (2019) was the first one. They Call Him OG stars Kalyan, along with Priyanka Mohan, Prakash Raj, Emraan Hashmi, Tej Sapru, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, Sudev Nair, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Rahul Ravindran, and Abhimanyu Singh.

They Call Him OG hit theatres on September 25, and is IMDb’s eighth top-grossing Indian film of 2025. It has grossed more than $33 million worldwide.

Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra got a digital release on October 31 and the film is already working wonders online as well. It is the most watched film on any online platform in India for the week ending November 2. Ormax Media recorded 3.8 million views for the film in India alone. Revolving around a vampire-like character (Chandra, essayed by Priyadarshan), Lokah Chapter 1 focuses on her struggles to fight against the darker side of things while protecting the innocent and helpless ones.

Having scored nearly $35 million at the box office, Lokah Chapter 1 is the seventh highest-grossing Indian film of the year 2025. The female superhero film scored a decent $2 million in India and nearly $5 million worldwide in its first weekend alone. It closed its first week above $12 million and had already crossed $23 million by the end of its second week at the global box office. It crossed the $30 million-mark by the time it completed its first month at the ticket windows.

Directed and written by Dominic Arjun, the film rewrote box office history for women superheroes in Malayalam as well as Indian cinema. Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra is the seventh-highest grossing Indian film of the year 2025 and the top Malayalam box office hit. It is currently available for streaming on JioHotstar in India.

Even as Kantara Chapter 1 continues to run in theatres, the film landed online last week on Prime Video. It is the second most-watched film in India across all online platforms. Kantara Chapter 1 scored 3.5 million views in India alone for the week ending November 2. Directed, written and enacted by Rishab Shetty, the film is the highest-grossing Indian film of the year 2025 with a score inching close to $100 million.

Shetty directed and wrote the film with Shanil Guru and Anirudh Mahesh. Kantara Chapter 1 highlights the decades’ old battle of nature versus modern development. The film is a prequel to Shetty’s 2022 surprise hit Kantara (2022). Rukmini Vasanth and Jayaram play pivotal roles in the film which also features Bollywood actor Gulshan Devaiah.
